About Me
I’m a freelance LGBTQIA+ Scottish illustrator who specialises in creatures - be they extant, extinct or imaginary!
I studied at the Edinburgh College of Art, where I was awarded my BA Hons in Illustration (1st Class) as well as the Harry-More Gordon award for my degree show exhibiting ‘The Fossils on Mars’.
I have a research-heavy method of imagery development that seeks to create an authentic representation of the subject matter - I love to learn while I work, and teach with the results. I’m particularly passionate about the study of zoology and paleontology, and am strongly invested in the conservation and protection of animals and their environments.
I primarily use traditional mediums and techniques to bring organic, nostalgic character to my work. I edit my own books, and frequently photograph my own references.
If you’d like to work with me, I’d love to hear from you! Please email me at seth.statham@outlook.com for any inquiries.
